Dental Implant Options

A single dental implant is a surgical component that is placed into the jawbone to support a replacement tooth or bridge. The implant is made of titanium, a biocompatible material that integrates with the surrounding bone to create a strong foundation for the replacement tooth. A single dental implant procedure typically involves a minor surgical procedure to place the implant into the jaw, followed by a period of healing as the bone grows around the implant to secure it in place.

Once the implant has fully integrated with the bone, a custom-made dental crown is placed on top of the implant, completing the restoration. Single dental implants offer a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing solution for individuals with missing or damaged teeth, and can help to improve overall oral health and function.

A multiple dental implant bridge is a dental restoration that uses two or more dental implants to support a row of replacement teeth. This type of restoration is ideal for individuals who have lost several teeth in a row and are seeking a permanent and stable solution. The implants are placed into the jawbone and allowed to heal, and then they are used to support a custom-made bridge that is anchored to the implants.

The bridge is typically made of porcelain, ceramic, or zirconia, materials that closely match the color and translucence of natural teeth. Multiple dental implant bridges offer a fixed and permanent solution for replacing multiple missing teeth, and can help to restore biting and chewing function, improve speech, and maintain facial structure. With proper care, a multiple dental implant bridge can last for many years, providing a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing solution for individuals with missing teeth.

For people missing multiple teeth, full mouth dental implants provide the best way to permanently replace missing teeth.

With posts that fuse directly to the jawbone, the bone can’t shift or move as they would with traditional dentures.

These posts keep the patients’ facial structure in tact looking the same as it always has. Made from high-quality material, full mouth dental implants look as real as your natural teeth.

Advanced Dental Treatments

If you have a chipped, cracked, or missing tooth, you no longer need a series of scheduled dental appointments to resolve your discomforts. By use of state-of-the-art milling technology, CEREC, you can leave our offices with a permanent dental crown on the same day as your visit. Damaged teeth can make daily activities like chewing and speaking quite uncomfortable. Decayed teeth often cause irritation and sensitivity which over time leads to increased discomfort. If your tooth’s roots and interior are healthy then the tooth is likely worth saving. An upgraded exterior known as a dental crown or bridge makes damaged teeth stronger, therefore, restoring function. Our team has many years of cosmetic dentistry experience including education specifically for CEREC technology. Our team provide custom, premium quality, and same-day dental crowns in Bethpage, NY & Roslyn, NY.

At Gitlin Dental Group our dentist and dental team are skilled in CEREC assisted restorative treatments. With the experience and the technology available to streamline the dental process while restoring function to your tooth in a single visit. Your new restoration is made from ceramic or porcelain materials and restored perfectly to blend with your existing teeth while remaining strong enough to withstand daily wear. For teeth that need an extraction or in the case of a missing tooth, we also offer dental bridges to restore your smile to optimal health and function.

Crooked teeth, gaps in your smile, or misaligned bite? If you need braces but aren’t interested in the traditional bracket-and-wire systems, we have a clear alternative—Invisalign®

Using a series of clear aligners, we offer Invisalign to discreetly straighten crooked teeth. These aligners look like transparent retainers that fit snuggly over your teeth. With simple removal, you can continue to eat your favorite foods and maintain your normal hygiene routine with ease.

Best of all, you’ll be able to achieve an attractive, healthy smile without the discomfort of traditional braces and without friends and family even noticing!

Do you snore at night, awaken in the morning and feel fatigued even after sleeping through the night? If so, you may have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition impacting 6–13% of adults in the U.S. For mild to moderate OSA, we can create a custom-made mouth guard to fit the shape of your teeth and mouth to help alleviate this problem. This simple treatment will enable more restful sleep for you and your partner!

If you have gaps, chips, stains or discolored teeth, porcelain veneers may be an ideal option to restore beauty to your pearly whites. Porcelain veneers are thin facings custom-made from top quality ceramic material designed to fit perfectly over the front of your teeth. One of the most appealing aspects of porcelain veneers is that they involve minimal tooth preparation and take just a few visits. The process starts by removing a small portion of enamel from your teeth to enable veneers to fit perfectly. Then an impression is made of your tooth, which is sent to a dental lab to create your veneer. The veneer is attached to your tooth with a special cement, followed by ultraviolet light to quickly harden and secure it. Porcelain veneers enhance and improve the shape of your teeth, while creating an overall whiter and brighter smile.

General Dentistry

We understand developing a fear-free and positive relationship with toddlers sets the stage for a lifetime of good oral health. Being treated by a compassionate dental team that understands the needs of young children provides a solid foundation for their future smile and oral health. An integral part of our preventive program for pediatric patients includes periodic fluoride treatments and the application of dental sealants.

With a demonstrated success rate of well over 90%, root canal procedures are the most effective procedure for saving and retaining a tooth that has been severely compromised by dental decay or injury. During a root canal procedure, our dentists remove the diseased dental pulp, clean the internal portion of your tooth, then fill all the prepared canals with a biocompatible filling material. Although root canal therapy is typically performed under local anesthesia, we also offer additional dental sedation options to reduce dental anxiety. Because a root canal increases the tooth’s vulnerability to stress and fracture, a permanent crown is required to protect the tooth from further damage.

“Rain, sleet or snow, someone’s always here.” Gitlin Dental Group is open seven days a week, which makes it easy to accommodate dental emergencies. All our dentists live locally, which helps if you need a same-day appointment. If a damaged or infected tooth is left untreated, this increases the risk of the infection spreading. If you’re experiencing tooth pain, have a broken or knocked-out tooth or any other painful dental symptoms, we recommend you contact Gitlin Dental Group as soon as possible. All of our dentists have experience providing emergency dentistry in Bethpage and Albertson, NY and can treat a comprehensive range of non-life-threatening dental issues under one roof.

Teeth stained or darkened by food, tobacco use, age, medications or injury can be effectively lightened and brightened with professional teeth whitening. While many over-the-counter teeth whitening products are available, the most effective and safest are professional strength options. Our professional whitening systems offer a higher concentration of whitening components and deliver them to the teeth in the most efficient manner to achieve optimal results. We offer an in-office tooth whitening procedure or a professional at-home system, both of which are top-of the-line systems. The biggest advantage of the in-office procedure is that you can achieve a smile several shades whiter and brighter in as little as an hour. If you prefer to whiten your teeth at home, the at-home kit is highly effective but whitens your teeth more gradually.

We hope that with each visit to our family dentist practice in Farmingdale, NY we get to know you a little bit better.

Understanding Dental Implants and Cosmetic Procedures

Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry FAQ

Dental implants transform your smile and boost your confidence. They are a popular option for replacing teeth because they’re more natural looking and feeling than dentures. Plus, they also do not require the removal of any healthy tooth structure. In addition, dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care.

Dental implants transform your smile and boost your confidence. They are a popular option for replacing teeth because they’re more natural looking and feeling than dentures. Plus, they also do not require the removal of any healthy tooth structure. In addition, dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care.

The cost of dental implants can vary depending on many factors, such as the number of teeth replaced and the procedure’s complexity. In general, though, dental implants tend to be more expensive than other types of replacement teeth. However, they’re also a longer-lasting solution, so you may find they’re worth the investment in the long run.

Yes! Dental implants offer several advantages over other types of replacement teeth, such as dentures. They’re more durable and look like natural teeth. Dr. Gitlin ensures your implants fit and feel natural.

A good candidate for sedation dentistry is anyone who has dental anxiety. Depending on your specific dental needs and the type of procedure you are having, our doctor will treat you with a specific type, or types, of sedation dentistry.

Depending on what you need and want to have a successful procedure experience, we have various sedation dentistry options. The types of sedation dentistry options you can get treated with at our office include nitrous oxide, oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia.

Look for a dentist with specific training and experience in cosmetic procedures. Check before and after photos of their work, read patient reviews, and consider the technology and techniques they use. It’s also important to have a consultation to discuss your goals and expectations.

  1. Teeth Whitening: A quick way to brighten your smile, removing stains and discoloration.
  2. Dental Veneers: Thin shells crafted from porcelain or composite material, designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your smile’s appearance.
  3. Dental Bonding: A process where tooth-colored resin is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve a person’s smile.
  4. Dental Implants: Artificial tooth roots placed in your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge for those who have lost a tooth or teeth.
  5. Orthodontics: Braces and other teeth straightening procedures like Invisalign to correct misaligned teeth.

Cosmetic dentistry includes procedures that improve the appearance of your teeth, gums, and overall smile. It can address color, position, shape, size, and alignment to enhance both aesthetics and functionality.
