Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) combines CAD/CAM technology, a camera and a milling machine, all in one protocol. First, we administer a local anesthetic, then prepare your tooth for restoration by removing decay. Next, a digital 3D image of your tooth is taken and used to create the restoration without the need for messy impressions. Special software is used to convert the digital image into a 3D virtual model of the prepared tooth. The in-house CEREC milling system enables the fabrication of a custom fitted crown that matches your other teeth perfectly. During the last step, we bond the new crown to the surface of your natural tooth. From start to finish, the entire process takes only about two hours!
Dental inlays are molded of a composite material to restore the biting surface of a tooth damaged by trauma or decay. Onlays are used to restore damage and deterioration to the cusps of your tooth, as well as the biting surface.
